Class Information:

Pre-registration is requested (by phone: 617-969-6430, email: hsgolann@comcast.net or in person). Priority is given to those who sign up for the series. The series fee may be prorated for those who join after a session has begun. Drop-ins may be allowed when space is available, but if you are planning to drop in for the first time, please check in ahead of time by phone or email. Drop-in rate is $20 /class.

Make-up classes: You can use other classes for make-up sessions if you need to miss a class at your usual time. All missed classes must be made-up within the current series, but you also have the option of using "credit" for a missed class to give a friend or family member a free class.

Withdrawal: Students registered for series may withdraw within the first week of classes. They will be credited or refunded the full paid tuition, minus a drop-in rate cost for the first class.  No withdrawal refunds or credits will be given after the second class has met except in cases of illness or serious personal problems.

Gifts: If you wish to give someone special the gift of yoga, gift certificates are available in any amount over $20.

Scheduling options: If you don't see a class at a time that works for you, please email Helaine with your preference. She may have other students interested in the same time (especially if it is an early morning time!) or know other teachers who teach at the time that works for you.

Double-yoga discount: There is a discount if you decide to subscribe to two series simultaneously (for example, Tuesday evening and Friday morning or Tuesday and Friday mornings).

Directions to First Unitarian Society of West Newton

(This a stone church building with a large square tower at 1326 Washington Street right in the center of West Newton.)

If you are coming from the west on Route 16 (i.e. from Commonwealth Ave), you will see it on the right just after you cross the Mass Pike and pass Tody's gas station. If you turn right on Highland street just beyond the church, you can park either right next to the church or cross the bridge over the Pike and park on the other side (either along Highland or turn left unto a small street there) and walk back over the bridge. (There will be a parking lot on your left, but they do tow if you aren't using a business there and the church parking lot is for staff only.) Another alternative is to turn left just across from the church and use the metered parking lot on the left side of that road.

If you are traveling east on Route 16, Highland Street will be your first right after passing the West Newton Cinema.

To enter the church building, I suggest the rear door as the front doors are often locked. The rear door is just behind the church parking lot off of Highland Street. Come through the gate in the chain link fence (please fasten gate behind you because a day care center also uses the space). You may not see the door right away, but have faith that it is there - it is partially hidden by a bend in the wall there.

Coming in through the back door, you'll turn left and go down a hall with offices on either side and through double doors at the end into the large parish hall. You'll turn right and walk across the Parish Hall to the stairs towards the front of the building and climb the stairs there.

Upstairs, there are only two large rooms and one is a kitchen so the yoga room is easy to identify. It is a beautiful space with a hardwood floor and natural lighting from leaded glass windows that run the full length of the room on both sides.
